Charges: Convicted sex offender sent graphic texts to teen
(Mankato, MN)- A convicted sex offender is accused of soliciting a teen girl for sex.
Patrick Lee Olson, 37, is charged in Blue Earth County Court with felony counts of solicitation of a child, engagement, and distribution of sexual electronic communications with a child, and possession of pornographic work.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim’s parents discovered a multitude of texts Olson had sent their 14-year-old daughter.
Court documents say the texts contained graphic sexual language:
“Send me a SEXY picture of you”
“I Love You Baby. Send me a naked pic,”
“You want to suck my Big D**k in you vagina baby?”
“I want to have Sex with you tonight baby.”
Olson also allegedly asked the victim if she wanted to make a baby and asked if he could get her pregnant. A search of his phone unearthed nude photographs the victim had sent him. Police say Olson maintained three separate Facebook profiles.
Olson is a registered predatory offender, convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct in 1995, according to the complaint.
In an interview with police, Olson said, “I know she’s 14 – she just turned 14 – but as far as I know, I thought she was older.” Olson said he believes the victim is his daughter, because he’d dated her mother about 15 years prior. He admitted to asking the victim for oral sex, but claimed her age would have prevented him from going through with the act.
