MANKATO, Minn. – Work is underway to demolish the County Road 9 bridge near the Rapidan Dam, with crews focusing on removing the bridge’s ledge.
The full demolition is expected to be completed within two months.
County engineers have prioritized the winter timeline to avoid potential damage caused by spring flooding, which could impact the structure and nearby areas.
Plans for the Rapidan Dam itself remain in progress. County officials note that the project will take several years to finalize as they work with FEMA to secure funding.
