Hagedorn, Walz meet to discuss Highway 14 expansion
(St. Paul, MN) – Governor Tim Walz and Minnesota Representative Jim Hagedorn met Monday to discuss expansion of Highway 14.
The governor and Rep. Hagedorn voiced mutual support for expanding the 12-mile stretch of roadway between New Ulm and Nicollet from two to four lanes to improve safety to create economic opportunity for southern Minnesotans.
Last week, Hagedorn wrote U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao asking her to approve a BUILD grant that would fund up to $25 million for the Highway 14 Corridor project, which was first brought to the table in 1958.
“Governor Walz and I are committed to working in bipartisan fashion to fight for the project funding streams needed to complete the Highway 14 Corridor project and improve the lives of our constituents,” said Hagedorn.
