Moorhead Teen Charged in Christmas Shooting at Mankato Cooperative

MANKATO, MN — Abdikhadar Fakhi Mohidin, an 18-year-old from Moorhead, has been charged in connection with a Christmas Day shooting at the Benco Electric Cooperative in rural Mankato.
Mohidin faces multiple felony charges, including 1st-degree assault resulting in great bodily harm, 2nd-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, 3rd-degree assault causing substantial bodily harm, and possession of a firearm without a permit.
Each assault charge carries a minimum sentence of three years upon conviction.
The incident left a woman seriously injured. She was transported to Rochester for emergency surgery.
Mohidin’s first court appearance is scheduled for January 16.
