Vegas Victim Has Emotional Reunion With His Hero

Tragedy often brings out the best in people, and nowhere was that more evident than Sunday night in Las Vegas when hundreds of concertgoers jumped into action to save strangers’ lives.

When bullets started flying, Tom McIntosh ran like everybody else and helped his wife and another woman escape over a wall. But just before he could get away, he was shot in the leg. He still managed to make it over the wall, but he was bleeding profusely.

Suddenly, James Lawson stopped to help. Lawson, an Army Reservist, used a belt as a makeshift tourniquet to stop the bleeding and stayed with him for about 10 minutes until he was able to load McIntosh onto a pickup truck and drive him to the hospital.

McIntosh credited Lawson with saving his life. Yesterday, McIntosh was being interviewed by Savannah Guthrie of the Today show and said he would love an opportunity to thank Lawson again in person. That’s when Lawson surprised him and the two men had an emotional reunion on live TV.
