Police in Ann Arbor were busy following a forklift around town this weekend when a 12-year-old stole the construction vehicle from Forsythe Middle School.

The juvenile, whose name hasn’t been released, stole the vehicle Saturday evening and was seen driving it around town without the headlights on. Police couldn’t stop the forklift, so they trailed behind it at about 20 mph with their sirens on, capturing an up-close video of the forklift weaving off and on the road, hitting 10 parked vehicles during the drive.

The boy was taken into custody Saturday night and was being held at a juvenile detention center.

Police called it a “very dangerous situation that could’ve easily ended with serious injuries.” The incident is under investigation. (NBC News)
