A culinary kook in Florida is playing a really sick game of chicken — by accepting the challenge of eating raw chicken every single day.

“John,” who’s keeping his last name a secret, has been chowing down on chicken tartare every day for weeks, and says he’ll keep it up until he “gets a tummy-ache.” Medical experts strongly advise against the practice, saying issues can go far beyond upset stomach to bloody diarrhea, fever, vomiting, stomach cramps, parasites and more.

The dining daredevil, who’s tried raw challenges including beef, kangaroo and brains, says he doesn’t see any danger, telling Vice “In Japan, they’ll have raw chicken on menus. I don’t think it’s the raw chicken itself that will kill you, it’s more what they’re doing to the animals in the factory farms.If something happens to me, it’s my fault, but I’m pretty sure I’ll be fine.”
