(Mankato, MN) – A Mankato man is facing criminal charges for a confrontation that allegedly stemmed from a prison tattoo.
Jonathon Henry Burris, 24, was charged in Blue Earth County Court with misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct in Blue Earth County Court.
According to the criminal complaint, Burris was at a bar on June 30th when he became offended by another man’s tattoo. A friend of the tattooed man tried to explain to Burris that his pal had received the tattoo in prison and did not believe in the underlying meaning, according to the complaint. The man told police Burris pushed him to the ground, injuring his elbow.
Burris confirmed to police the tattoo had made him angry and admitted he’d confronted the man’s friend after he left the bar. He told police the man made an aggressive motion towards him, so he pushed him.
Police say the injured man’s elbow wound appeared to needed stitches, but he declined medical treatment.
