Ramen Is In High Demand–Here’s Why…

The rising cost of groceries is leading more people to turn to an old reliable pantry staple that has always seemed to be unaffected by inflation — instant ramen noodles. It turns out they’re not just for penny-pinching college students anymore. Sales of the inexpensive and easy-to-prepare noodles have skyrocketed over the past few years. According to the World Instant Noodles Association, which is a real thing, global sales of instant noodles last year topped 121.2 billion servings, which is an all-time high. And no, instant noodles aren’t really resistant to inflation. Prices of the salty noodles have also gone up, but they’re still a more affordable option for a lot of people trying to stretch their dollars.
