Mouse On The Menu at Whataburger
How about a side of fried mouse with your burger? A video showing a mouse scurrying on the counter of a Texas Whataburger before it makes a dive into the grease fryer has gone viral, disgusting customers and viewers.
One woman — who did not work at the restaurant, according to the man filming the video — goes behind the counter and begins moving containers to try and grab the critter.
Newsweek reported the company released a statement that the restaurant had been shut down and cleaned after the incident, however.
“At Whataburger, cleanliness and food safety are top priorities for us. In this instance, we closed the restaurant out of an abundance of caution and notified pest control. The entire restaurant has since been cleaned and sanitized,” the statement said, as reported by Newsweek.
“We addressed this situation as quickly as possible, reinforcing procedures with our Family Members. While we’ll continue to be very diligent, it’s important to know there was no history of this type incident at this unit and there is no ongoing issue.”
