Oil Activists Interrupt Play At Wimbledon

Protesters interrupted play at Wimbledon Wednesday forcing a first-round match to halt for several minutes.  Sho Shimabukuro and Grigor Dimitrov were early in their first set when a man and a woman wearing “Just Stop Oil” T-shirts came out of the stands and dumped confetti and puzzle pieces all over the grass court. The activists were apparently protesting Wimbledon’s sponsorship deal with Barclays, which it accuses of giving billions of dollars to oil and gas companies.
