Mankato Police: Walmart scissor attack leads to pursuit, crash, arrest
(Mankato, MN) – Mankato police say a woman who crashed her vehicle into a home Monday morning was running from police after she used scissors to assault someone at a local store.
Tiffany Latrice Samone Herron, 22, of Chicago, IL, was arrested following a pursuit with a Blue Earth County Sheriff’s deputy and a subsequent crash, according to a release from Mankato Public Safety.
The chain of events began at 9:58 a.m., according to police reports, when Herron was apparently leaving Madison Avenue Walmart and attacked a staff member at the store with a pair of scissors.
Herron was reportedly driving a Dodge Avenger which was located on East Main Street and Plainview by the deputy, but police say she drove away when he pulled up behind her. A short vehicle pursuit ended when Herron’s car crashed into a home on the 1700 block of Fair Street, but police say she then fled on foot and was arrested a short time later.
The home received minor damage, and no injuries were reported.
Herron was jailed on possible charges of felony theft, assault, and fleeing police in a motor vehicle.
